A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Hi I'm Char :)
Just a ring thing was born in 2013 when my sister in law and i decided to make an Instagram page to showcase our collection of rings. Having ordered lots of rings from talented silversmiths from all across the world I was always looking for original pieces and found that custom was the only way I wanted to buy things.
After a little while of running the page I took over and decided I wanted to be on the other side of the business and become the one making the jewellery to be cherished by others. I jumped on eBay without a clue what I was looking for and purchased a retired jewellers bench and tool set two hours away from home. Once it was in my mitts I sat with a pen and paper and began learning everything I could about everything that was in front of me.
I set up the bench in the corner of our little living room making bits and bobs in my spare time over the next two years or so whilst working alongside my 9-5 office job. Although I had gotten myself into a successful position there I never enjoyed it and was desperate to be back at home making! Many stress induced office meltdowns later (lol) I decided enough was enough and took the plunge into silversmithing full time. Fast forward another six or so years, I'm still doing it fulltime and have never looked back :)
